The Power of God’s Spirit

If we humble our pride, confess our sins, and vow to walk away from them with God’s help, He is faithful and just to forgive us for our unholy ways (1 John 1:9). He creates a clean heart in us, and He renews an honorable spirit within us (Psalm 51:10-12).

He also adopts us as His children. Although we are not yet what we are going to be, we are no longer who we used to be. When He comes to earth again to rescue His bride, we shall be just like Him, with a holy and unblemished immortal body, soul and spirit, because we shall see Him just as He is (1 John 3:2-3).

Until then, by the power of His Holy Spirit within us, we live our life without any corrupt plans, words, thoughts or actions. Instead, we pursue what is good, and we use our life to edify and minister God’s grace to everyone with whom we come in contact (Ephesians 4:29).

Our confidence grows as we realize that God revamps our goals and will continue His perfecting work in us until Christ returns for us (Philippians 1:6). We are branches on the Vine of Christ, and we simply let His Spirit flow through us and bear His fruit in our life (Galatians 5:22-23).

God teaches us to share random acts of kindness with others, and we soon find our self with steadfast friends who return the favor for us. We nurture one another, and we show each other mercy and compassion in our needs and human failings.

By God’s mercy, we daily present our body to God as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him for His use. This is the least we can do for Him (Romans 12:1). God’s Spirit began a sanctifying work in us, and we have the confidence to know that He will continue working in us until Jesus returns for us (Philippians 1:6).

Prayer:

Father God, You never force us to obey You, because You gave us a free will to choose whom we will serve: You, our self, the world, or Satan. Strengthen our fortitude so that we will be willing to leave the safety of the boat, as Peter did, and to walk to You on the waters of life. Peter willingly left the known element of the solid boat, and He took a step of faith and walked on the unknown element of the liquid sea, until He took His eyes off Jesus.

In our life, however, help us to keep our eyes on You and not on the tumultuous circumstances all around us. Help us to live every moment to the fullest, with our trust totally in Your will for each one of them. We do not want to succumb to worry and fear, but to live by faith in Your faithfulness. Help us to walk to the edge of all of the light that we have, and to take one more step into the darkness while You are holding our hand.

Thought for the Day:

God is always there for us in the midst of all of our trials, traumas and tribulation; we can trust in Him with our whole heart, as we igore the cacophony of worldly sounds that attempts to drown out His still, small voice; while we walk in all of His ways for each moment of our day.
