Healing from Disassociated Trauma – Part 2

If our caretakers back in our childhood had unresolved issues from their past, they may have lacked the nurturing abilities that we needed from them in our developmental stages of life.

This causes us to feel “second hand” trauma, which is just as damaging to us as it was to them. Their identity as a person and their personal needs went unmet and they were not able to give us what we needed to develop normally as a human being.

Then, we are not able to give our children or grandchildren the wholesome love that they need for their proper development. This causes similar wounds in them that we experienced.

This subconscious encoding causes emotional, mental, physical and spiritual blocks for generations to come. We may have no idea what our caretakers suffered, but it inflicted wounds in us that we pass down to our children and grandchildren (Leviticus 26:39).

To heal from the past and current suffering, we need a patient and empathetic mate, parent, friend, counselor or pastor. We need this person to help us to persevere in prayer as we listen for God’s truth about the lies, which the devil planted in our mind in these early memories.

This person is our prayer partner and helps us to wage spiritual battle in high places to take back these wounded parts of our soul from demonic forces that kept us in bondage to those wounds all of our life so far (Psalm 34:5).

As we hear from God about the trauma from our past and receive His healing in those disassociated events, we resolve those old issues. This frees us from the debilitating pain and enables us to react differently to our current issue from that point throughout the rest of our life.

Prayer:

Father God, help us to no longer rely on human reasoning, but to walk in Heavenly wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:25; James 1:5).  When we trust in You alone, You always calm our soul in the storms of life. You encourage us through one of Your Saints, or a verse from Your Word, and You put a new song in our heart (Leviticus 26:39). You are faithful, nurturing and kind and desire that we are free to enjoy the mind of Christ, unhindered by the devil’s lies that kept us in bondage all of these year.

Your Spirit helps us to overcome the spirit of fear that Satan plants in our soul (2 Timothy 1:7). As we receive healing for our past wounds and walk in Your Spirit each moment of our day, You allow us to live at ease with stable thoughts and feelings and spiritual wisdom (Proverbs 1:33).

Thought for the Day:

As we believe in and trust in the goodness of God, He helps our unbelief (Mark 9:24); we turn over all of our cares to Him, because He always cares for us (1 Peter 5:7); and He fills us with the fruit of His Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and the divine nature of Christ (2 Peter 1:4).
